Costs of Maglev Train
The current train in Shangai cost a total of 1.2 billion dollars to build.
The goal is to decrease the costs to 18 million dollars per kilometer in the near future to make the Maglev's expansion more feasable. The approximate cost per mile for the Maglev in Shanghai was 115 million U.S dollars.
The cost is more expensive than conventional trains initially, however, there is virtually no upkeep required because the system is no friction with the Maglev Train.
